The thing everyone is forgetting is that it takes a band to make that sound happen. 3+ guys making it all come together and giving a sound that stays. Santana does this - as a group. For example, Lennon could not do it without the others and in fact he didn't after The Beatles parted ways (officially in 1974-75). McCartney could only do it when he surrounded himself with the best musicians post-Beatles. Point being its a group effort in the end with a solid driving force like Carlos Santana.
